When I first heard about this movie I thought "Yes this is gonna be a Movie to watch out for". But as its trailer and first looks came out It changed my whole perception about the movie. I turned out to be "gaaliyan deta Punjab".
Now you don't think I am against this movie. The concept they came out with was an awesome one. It is very close to reality. But that vocabulary which is used in the movie is not simply acceptable. In Punjab or even in all over India there isn't this kind of culture that those abusive words are accepted in a story which is supposed to be watched with family. Majority of Punjabi's and Majority of Indians are not like those shown in the movie. And if this story is about those involved in drugs then why there is the name of whole "Punjab" in the title?
And If we are going to watch the movie with our friends then what is the point of showing the truth ? Because then we don't need to watch that dramatic exaggeration of sequences. We are better seeing reality all around us.
So then the next question is, Do they want govt. to notice that truth by watching the movie ?
NO, Because Govt. is not ignorant of these things. They know already and everything. So if they want to show the truth to the families they should have chosen a more sophisticated and domesticated vocabulary instead. So that parents would have been able to watch with their young kids to guide them better.
We are not unaware of the fact that those who deal with drugs in real life use a dirty vocabulary and are somewhat similar psychopaths like that character in the movie "Tommy Singh".
We don't want to listen to those abusive words. We just want to know the story. Censor board was right on that matter but Court felt the pressure from some famous personalities or The Court must have played this trick so that makers would know practically that not to make such kind of movie again. Now they have ordered to release the movie with just one cut from the story which could have been undeniably unacceptable.
Movie is going to release next week. Lets see how many Indians listen to those abusive words and applaud them.
